I considered all studs because I like the idea of not having any thread wear on the heads, but I thought that this is not possible on the 1.9 engine; there are some old list emails from bob donalds saying that the waterpump can prevent removing the pipes when studs are used on the #2 port. Has this not been your experience?

(I actually am thinking that even if I wanted to keep the studs, I'd prefer to have stainless studs in which case I'd be removing these studs anyways.)
