 Don't forget that vortex creates pressure waves that are timed to extract
more exhaust from your cylinder for more power and better fuel economy.
The exhaust cycle in the cylinder creates positive and negative waves that
when timed properly with the length of pipe will actually draw out more
exhaust and create a vacuum to pull in additional fuel.  That is why some
people shorten or extend exhaust pipes an inch or so on racing cars.  I
think Scott will loose power and fuel economy pulling a trailer with an
extended tail pipe for this reason (all though not EXCLUSIVELY for this
reason.)
