Just out of curiosity, how big a bowl, and how long did it take to collect them? My late and greatly lamented Tucker used to bring home hawk moths for my amazement and delight (he brought home quite a number of different critters for me to watch him play with, including the one that instigated my second set of rabies shots; but the hawk moths and the yellow jacket were the only ones he actually ate).* They were amazingly hefty, kind of like winged cigarillos, but still...***

**My more recent and equally greatly missed Shadow was also a mighty hunter, but his speciality was...wait for it...night crawlers. Cracked me up to watch him poised at the edge of the garden, every nerve on edge...poor little bugger got killed last May and I only just got up the spit to get Jade a month or two ago. So far she hunts feathers-on-a-string and the food in her dish. It's a special dish that looks like a flying saucer with holes around the rim -- she has to reach into and snag the food. She seems to enjoy it. Shadow's reaction was to stare mournfully at it until I fed him properly. Sweetest cat in the universe, but not the brightest (c.f. earthworms).

Yours, Endnote, I mean David
