Get underneath and look up, you'll see it. Then you just kind of take the old one out and put the new one in the same way. There are some Tyraps(tm) to connect the cable shell to the valve housing IIRC. Check the archives...someone in the last few years wrote about something more elaborate than I did in my '84. I think he disconnected the control cable up above so he could lower the valve down to get to it more easily. Ideal for a man in your situation, I'd say. Working with the valve in place is a nuisance, I remember that much.
