Grease able suspension parts have boots that are designed to let the grease out. The VW joints are closed both on the shaft and at the base of the joint housing making them almost sealed. The grease should last the expected life of the joint. Unfortunately many of the joints now available seem to have addressed this by simply having a short life. I love replacing 20 year and 200,000 mile parts and having the new one fail in a year and 10,000 miles!
