There's no reason to not trust a properly crimped connection. They're as good or better than soldered ones. With the correct crimper, you'll get a secure, gas tight connection, with better stress relief than solder. There are reasons the preponderance of OEM connections are crimped, and it's not just cost.

A good crimper isn't any more expensive than a good soldering station.
