  Years ago, I took up the carpet and underlayment, then put down a
layer of aluminum against felt/wool scrap material on top of the sheet
metal.

  Worked for me.

  If I were to do it again, I would probably use Reflectix.  I also
stuck some of the same material underneath the bus, attached the
"ducting" that the hot air from the rad follows, but it blew away...
