Search "libby bong" on thesamba. Bong is a piece of ABS pipe, coupling, vent hose. Cheap & easy to make. Though a different cooling path, worked fine on my swap. Caveats:

- coolant will likely burp up, engine started. Gauge (predict) amount of coolant you want left in bon before starting engine. Like if you're getting a steady stream of coolant at rad bleeder, you don't want the bong full. "splash!"

- IMO, I'd try not to have bong too fulll at any given time. IMO, this could make it too heavy for the expansion tank. I realize the boxer expansion tank is supported from the bottom. Just thinking from a wear and tear aspect (aging plastic). Not saying it would harm the expansion tank per se.

The idea behind the bong:

nose lower than rear, bong attached, one can get level of coolant closer to, or higher than, rad height. Also, bong helps create pressure to pushe coolant through the cooling system. (well part of the system I guess, engine cold, thermostat closed)
