The engines condition really needs to be evaluated. At that mileage it may be worn but it is also thoroughly tested. Also what is the condition of all the support systems? A blown radiator can leave that new engine is even worse shape than the old one! The 1.9s tend to have main bearing issues requiring the case to be align bored but can still go the distance. Do the evaluation and find out if the power issue is real and if it is really the engine. Maybe it only needs a valve job.

My engine's got just over 200,000 miles. As I mentioned earlier, seems as though she has gradually lost power the last few years.

In terms of miles, what's the life expectancy of a 1.9L? Is there much power difference between a 1.9L and a 2.1L?

I'm thinking why not just replace the engine now rather than waiting til she blows which could be tomorrow or 3 years years from now.

What are peoples' opinions?
