Any shop that appears to have any reservations is not the shop you want. All the normal wear parts are readily available from the tranny shop suppliers. For the torque converter and the seals between the auto and final drive sections I go to the dealer. I have had problems with those seals from the kits. You want to replace all the pistons while in there , (not part of the kit, an extra). I have only once had a bad valve body. Not much to wear there.

Thanks, Dennis. Is he liable to have trouble with parts? Most of the shops around here hear "VW" and say "go away, nobody works on them because they won't sell you parts." I know he's found a "rebuild kit."
