you mean intermittent starter operation ? ( and not 'cranks but only fires up intermittently' )

I have one van right now.. have to hold the key in the 'start' position for a few seconds before the starter starts going. Figure that ignition key is getting tired.

what grade of starter ? I've had no luck with non-bosch rebuilts.

which trans ? if manual ..how is the starter bushing ?
