Dennis got me thinking about the backing plates. Where the shoes contact the plate should be lubed with brake grease or anti seize. Lots of vehicles have this problem. Had an Escalade with rear discs and integrated drum parking brake. The little shoe in the parking brake was dry and squeaking with every revolution of the wheel. A little brake caliper grease quieted her right down.

Hola gang! I now have my '87 Sunroof Syncro Registered and Inspected in PA! I've got 250 miles on my zetec install and life is grand. Aside from potentially having to pull it back out due to a leaking rear main seal (YUCK!), having yet to reboot and repack the front CV's.... she's ready for the road.

During the restoration process I replaced the rear brake components as well as disassembled, inspected, repacked, rebooted, and reinstalled the Rear CV's. I have not done the rear wheel bearings however. This van sat for 15 years, so all systems are suspect.

I currently have a squeeking with every revolution coming from the rear wheels (mainly the drivers side), but it strangely subsides/goes away during braking....? Or at least changes pitch.
