Hmmm..... . Do you mean that the metal base of the jack is curled? Or that a rubber or plastic part is curled? Mine does not have a separate rubber or plastic pad, just the metal base. However, I carry a 2"x12"x12" block of yellow pine timber that I have tried out to set the metal base on for better stability if needed. Such a need would be mainly on a soft surface. On pavement, the regular jack base has worked fine. Luckily, I've never needed the jack. The only times I've ever used it were at home for practice. I was, btw, favorably impressed with how well the seemingly not very good jack works. It seems cumbersome, and when first started, leans off of vertical, giving an impression that it will not be stable. But as the vehicle rises, the jack moves toward and finally achieves a vertical position. I think it is a good jack. I do recommend the supplemental base, given the small size of the regular one. mcneely ---- Phil Menchions <pwmenchions@HOTMAIL.COM> wrote: > Speaking of jacks. I have to make sure I'm on a perfectly flat surface and the wheels are well chocked. Some sort of "stabilizer" would come in handy. > Phil > -- David McNeely |
