Hi ..just saying .. and you didn't do anything with your linkage... and it sounded like 'gear selection' ...like how and where the lever moves (even with engine off ) may be vague in your case.. if so ..there's getting any slop or looseness dealt with. lubing everything really well. and there are two adjustment places.... one is at the base of the shfiter, under the rubber boot ..those two screws or nuts there. the other is at this splined junction in the middle of the shift rods under the van .. normally that is never touched ... it affects how fore-aft the shift knob is in neutral .. and sometimes it needs to be adjusted rotationally there , not too commonly though. couldn't quite tell if you had a 'clutch doesn't release cleanly' issue or 'vague shifter' issue, or some of both. there's another sort of adjustment too .. at the rear that plate with shift rod going through it bolts to the 83 and later manual transmissions .. two bolts and nuts there. the bolt holes allow for slop there...sometimes the bolts need to be loosened, that plate pushed up ..then bolts tightened. scott On 5/15/2012 5:05 PM, Jeff Lincoln wrote: > Thanks Scott - I'll try to bleed it a bit better.
