Hi all. This part has *minor* rust with minor pitting. Image: https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-qNR3z6hf-bM/T7LNaa6Z3LI/AAAAAAAAFxg/cqN_uhf1lYs/s512/FPR%2520Rust.jpg I have clear POR on hand. I hate to assume anything, but with this part it's pretty safe to assume that the rust is on the outside. Will POR-15 really stop the progress of surface rust? In the POR-15 FAQ's they answer this question by saying their product won't allow moisture (or air for that matter I guess) to penetrate. But does this product actually convert the rust at all? Am thinking a clear coat is better so I can keep an eye on it. Any rust converter I've used turns black. These are pricey new so if I can safely use it, I will. Diaphragm seems ok. (doesn't leak) Thanks Neil.
