within a fairly narrow range I think. our era vans use narrow range 02 sensors, I believe. more modern cars have wide-range 02 sensors. I don't think our 02 / ECU systems can compensate for large changes in mixture .. only fine tuning on the basic mixture . they run wonderfully without an oxygen sensor anyway, and the 02's limited influence is why our vanagons can run so well without a working 02 sensor.
