fwiw .. it is my understanding that on some audi/vw cars with ABS brakes ....to bleed the brakes it is neccessary to have vag-com or some electronic interface. I would expect such on a 2008 Audi. and you'd think for sure a car like that would have a brake pad warning light on the dash .

I hope it's not like this ..but I can see the original very dirty dark brake fluid now. Not the kind of car you just slap brake pads in let's say.

and as mentioned, it is standard practice to open the bleeder valve when pushing the pistons back, so as to not push old BF up into the brake system and ABS unit.

I'll say it needs trouble shooting all right !
