Subject: Slight Rust on Fuel Pressure Regulator; Will POR-15 Stop Rust
              Progress? PIC
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1

Hi all.

This part has *minor* rust with minor pitting. Image:

I have clear POR on hand.

I hate to assume anything, but with this part it's pretty safe to assume that the rust is on the outside.

Will POR-15 really stop the progress of surface rust? In the POR-15 FAQ's they answer this question by saying their product won't allow moisture (or air for that matter I guess) to penetrate. But does this product actually convert the rust at all?

Am thinking a clear coat is better so I can keep an eye on it. Any rust converter I've used turns black.

These are pricey new so if I can safely use it, I will. Diaphragm seems ok. (doesn't leak)

Thanks

Neil.
