hi paul, the right tool is a vanagon jack . a screw type upright jack that plugs into holes at the jacking points on the van ...by each wheel.

two tons is 4,000 lbs .. one of those could jack up either end easily. . Must be doing something wrong or the jack is faulty.

the stock jack is usually found ................. it 'should' be under the back seat. people also hide them under either front seat. and many westy people put them in a not very good spot .the storage shelf at the top of the rear hatch opening.
