A 90 or 91 GL can have side cladding .. I have one ...it's not just a Carat thing.

I also like the 87 Wolfsburg for not having side gladding .( but fiberglass bumpers and short front door piece ) I have seen the side gladding removed on one van.

it still looks carat-ish to me for some reason. The only visual thing I can think of is the Carat sits 1./2 inch lowse than a GL, on it's shorter springs.

the rear facing jump seats imply Carat too . I looked at 90 Carat here.. on the right side of the hatch it says VANAGON .. and below that is says CARAT.

maybe it is a GL .it doesn't exactly look like it has the lower springs .
