Subject: Friday NVC: Ford may import Transit (Westfalia converts this)
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

Rumor anyway. The smaller made-in-Turkey Ford Transit Connect has been a success here (has same engine that the Bostig conversion uses). Here is what (bankrupt) Westfalia is doing with the larger Transit in Europe in case you have not seen it: http://westfalia-ford.co.uk/elevated%20roof/index.html This sells for about £50,000 in the UK or $78,000. That includes significant VATs. Both the van and conversions would have to be made/done in the US (or Mexico) to be reasonably priced. Maybe Sportsmobile will step up.

At 16’ in length it’s almost 7’ shorter than the 22.6’ Sprinter 2500! The US needs a modern small camper van again for the thousands who don’t want a motorhome, including my kids. I hope someone figures this out.
