Funny how we all seek different things when we go camping. I want to escape the noise of civilization when camping. No Radio, no TV, no music, no sounds of machinery of any kind. I want to just experience the sounds of silence. Actually pure wilderness is not silent at all, it's just that the sounds are different. But civilization drowns it out. 'Course it's hard to get away from - in fact 'pert near impossible, but it can sure be reduced to a large degree. I just don't want to help it along. For me, a quiet campgound or spot by a lake, a beverage of choice and a good book get the job done. Total relaxation. But to each his own, eh!
