I noticed that. I nearly broke the other shaft trying to install the knob!
If you gently heat the center of the knob with a heat gun it will fit.
Probably never come off though.
May have a line on a valve, but if not I'll give it a go. Another member
already emailed me that he had done that.

Be careful here, couple of pitfalls. The knobs are not what Sturart
is needing, it's the brass shaft, that's gonna be a hard one. Since you
will have to remove the broken one to install a new one why not try to have
the broken one repaired ? A good machine shop should be able to do this
small job. Then, those Stove Knobs, Grey & Brown, that all of a sudden have
become available. They are ALL coming from Gunzl Classic Parts
<www.vwbusshop.de> and they have a BIG problem. The size of the D hole in
the knobs are not correct for the shafts on OUR stoves, they are too small !
I have an ongoing discussion with Gunzl on this subject and they say they
have not had any other complaints. Well, I have had many customers calling
me asking if mine will fit as the ones they were getting from other vendors
in the US did not, hole too small, well of course mine are the same as
theirs, they are all coming from the same source ! I did manage to enlarge
the hole in one, a, D hole configuration, to fit but what a project, who's
paying for that exercise ! Stay tuned for new developments. AND, why would
Westfalia use stoves in the North American market that had lager shafts than
the ones in other markets ? Just to drive us all crazy, that's what I think
!
