What changed is how VW wired up the dash lighting circuit and the fuse for that circuit. DO NOT mix up the headlight switches. Putting the later switch in an earlier van prevents the dash lighting from getting any power. Putting the earlier switch in a later van removes the fuse protection from the dash lighting wiring, risking a dash fire someday, though everything may appear to work fine until then. Mark
