Yeah....and with all those full sized Transits there will be lots and lots of parts and service available nationwide.  Also, my understanding is that the full sized Transit is the "world" platform....meaning parts and service available in Canada, Mexico, and Central America as well.  That catches my attention as I'm thinking of a long term retirement roadtrip vehicle across the North American Continent.  I'm just hoping it's a rock-solid platform, but pretty good reports I've read about current Transit in Europe; lots of guys convert them into campers, which is what I'd do.

its not a rumor. Ford is doing is phasing out the full size  Econolines..    the full size Transit will replace it. ford sells more full size vans than chevy..   the dodge full size  van was dropped 10 yrs ago and replaced by the Sprinter. so that means that all those econoline vans will be replaced with thefull  size Transit van. Rumor  anyway.  The smaller made-in-Turkey Ford Transit Connect has been  a success here (has same engine that the Bostig conversion uses).   Here is what (bankrupt) Westfalia is doing with the larger Transit in  Europe in case you have not seen  it: http://westfalia-ford.co.uk/elevated%20roof/index.html  This sells  for about £50,000 in the UK or $78,000.  That includes significant  VATs.  Both the van and conversions would have to be made/done in the  US (or Mexico) to be reasonably priced.  Maybe Sportsmobile will step  up.
