Not to steal this thread but; I reduced the blow-back when filling up.

I had the filler tube out on my truck (86 crewcab) to do some work in that area. I noticed the end narrowed considerably and turned downward. I assume the purpose is to stir up in the the bottom of the tank? I took a chance anyway and cut off last couple of inches to eliminate the bottle neck.

Has anyone else tried this?
