Hi all.

The rad on my '88 Westy is likely original, and has what I'd consider a
normal amount of bugs etc. stuck to the front of it. Still, it seems pretty
messy. My guess is that removing this debris should help the cooling
system, but how much it helps, I don't know.

Has anyone found that vacuuming away debris from the front face of radiator
has *significantly* lowered their coolant temps?

Am currently removing a snapped bolt from lower thermostat housing, so
can't test theory. If I can repair that part in situ, then I'll avoid
replacing the rad and coolant for now. Am hoping that clearing the front of
rad will help lower coolant temps. If it typically doesn't help, well, I
may be in for a bigger job!
