The radius arms on my '81 were really stuck. I posted here and showed what I could on my web pages here: http://sites.google.com/site/tubaneil2/vanagonmaintenanceandrepair

Take your time removing the nuts. The replacement nuts were the locking type. I assume that is OEM. So. Turn each a little at a time, use penetrating fluid prior to this and clean the exposed threads really well.

I found the bolt remnants really hard to get out. 1 would not budge. This is why I was thankful to have spare parts.
