That's a fascinating subject line.

Suggest setting up a remote start switch or a jumper lead (long lead from RS with booted crocodile clips is just right and can be secured with last couple inches hanging down and protected but able to be lifted to contact alternator B+). If it's a sticky solenoid then that shouldn't make much difference. If it's the switch it will work perfectly from the back.
