Same here. My record tank of almost 22 on my 86 with AT was in WV on 2 lane up and down and windy roads. The only thing I can think of is that the FI shuts off the fuel on the downhill parts. That would save some, and the overall lower speeds keep you out of the high wind resistance penalty zone.

My van does not get as good mileage as yours. 14-15 mixed mostly around town. 17 on hwy trips at 60mph or less. I have tires that make my speedometer accurate vs gps.
