Jon,

Just to elaborate on the LT... It's a front engined, rear drive full-size van/ truck that VW started building in 1976. It's similar and size as the MB Sprinter. The early models such as my '76 LT-35 used the engine commonly found in the US in the Porsche 924 and AMC Post Office trucks of the era. Later they got diesels too which Volvo sourced for the diesels they sold in the US in the early '80's.

Pretty rare in the US.
