Before you leave the Koblenz area, a day trip to Aachen is very nice. Nothing VW oriented per say, but you will see many Westies still hanging around up there. It was Charlemagne's Capitol and his Cathedral is the (Aachen Dom). Great food, lots of history (it was taken twice in WW2). Koln is also close to Koblenz. More Cathedrals, the Rhine is beautiful there. Cruising down the Mosel from Koblenz takes you to many small wine towns with wine stubes and good food until you hit Trier. Northern outpost of the Holy Roman Empire, the baths were pretty impressive. Head on down from there to the French border and you will find lots of small pretty towns.

All in all a nice part of Germany.
