it shows the O rings between that part and tube itself.

I'm think the part you're asking about isn't meant to be removed. I bet the O rings are NLA or NWA (Never Were Available ;^)

Do you have the larger plastic part that twist locks to body? I'm pretty twist locks onto body and the part you show etc. fastens to it. P. 20.27 in Bentley should shed some light though it shows a clamp and no ball. The filler tube I have in the basement has the ball but no clamp as shown in Bentley.
