There are aftermarket and OE German seals out there for Vanagons. I've never sold the aftermarket ones, but having sold the OE ones for years I can say that they fit perfectly and I've never heard of one ripping. GoWesty claims theirs are German, which would make them the OE ones (assuming their listing is correct) so they should fit. However, there are different sliding door window seals for 1980-85 and 1986-91. If the door on your van is not original then it takes a different seal. For sliding doors until 1986 you need 253 845 321; from 1986 on it's 322. (GoWesty erroneously lists the latter as for Westies only. Oh, and incidentally, charges more than we do. :-)
