Took my '88 out for a spin after doing some work on it. Since purchasing this Westy, prior to any work done by me, the coolant LED either: went out after a few seconds stayed on for quite a while. Last night it did the latter, staying on for some time. Restarted van, light went off. During further inspection of ground wiring condition etc., pulled the connector at expansion bottle. Noticed coolant puddle in male connector on bottle. Not good I think. Regardless....... Maybe have a look there? That said, IF a small puddle of coolant at the male connector is shorting connector out at that point, would this affect the controller thus behaviour of the LED? Seems to me a redundant thing as the probes are immersed in coolant. Neil.
