I don't like the usage either and never said I did. I'm just pointing out that it is a common usage of the term within the aftermarket automotive industry. As for confusing consumers, that is a wild claim in this case. Mail order engines don't come with a running car surrounding them. Any consumer so addled as to expect that they do probably shouldn't be driving.
