Have never seen those two together really. to me, backfiring occurs when unignited fuel in the exhaust system gets ignited there. I ahd a 84 wbxr doing that, consistenty....watching the injectors spray ..one was leaking fuel continously. at the very minimum, my thinking would be all along the lines of 'no backfiring' does not indicate at all that fuel delivery is good. if it's intake backfiring, my mind goes to bad intake valve, air leaks, etc. I have a similar situation in an 84 ... that is drivng me nuts. I'm about to put the first EFI harness, or another one , back in..I've tested everything and changed every part 5 times at least....as soon as the engine hits about 2,500 rpm with much throttle open ...it acts just like fuel was cut off, no matter what I do. It'll drive fine at light throttle and low rpm. |
