I think you're on to something here Stuart. The regulator is still made in Germany by Bosch. p/n 0 280 160 205. Good insurance against the part going NLA. We know the part lasts at least 21 years. Pricey at over $100 but if you install new and carry the old one as a spare, that's some piece o'mind. I just replaced one that failed after the engine fire and will probably post some pix of the interior of the failed one.
