Ah...guess I'm still in the dark ages of car hi-fi. I've heard the new ones don't even make that humming noise* any more while they warm up, before the station starts to come in. ;-)

*One of my favorite sounds as a 3-4 year old. "Vibrator" was a very interesting word to me then. That and getting to push the buttons after everything had warmed up. Magic!**

**We were well off, I'll have you know. Our car had a heater AND a radio ('52 Ford Tudor). Dad had to sell his Taylorcraft to keep me, but they did buy a car.
