12 volt fridge operation?

   The short answer is just don't bother with it- propane is your
friend.  I'm speaking from 17 years of experience with the thing.  As
others have pointed out, you want to stop for a meal or to sightsee
every once in a while, and that box is about as good an insulator as
window glass.
