I wired up mine with a front panel switch and relay that let the
thermostat regulate the DC operation as well.  The relay was needed
to do the actual DC switching and take the load off the thermostat
contacts.  Right now I'm thinking I should have been able to do it
without an extra switch on the front panel (i.e. another internal
relay), but it was long ago and far away by now and I don't have a schematic.
