Subject: Was: Dometic.. Flame Window. Now: Flame Window Butts up Against
              Box?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1

Hi all.

Since the gasket at flame window was mangled, I made an assumption.

On the Dometic 182, does the flame window normally butt up against the combustion box and the white material seals around the window?

On my spare Dometic 182A, this appears to be the case, but I'm not certain as it's not an easy detail to see w/o pulling things apart. The box etc. on my spare Dometic seals fine (RTV used) and was working when pulled, so I am not want to pull things apart.

And what is the white material? Asbestos? If so, why this used instead of the red rubber gasket due to high heat?

Thanks

Neil.
