I am really annoyed that VW insists on naming campers after US states, and they won't make one here! If that rig and engine are not made to US DOT and EPA standards, forget about bringing it home. Ask VW if it is. Good luck!

Stuart Would like a European camper too

Hello list!

I am currently travelling in Germany with my wife and 2 kids. I was going to wait till I got back to write, but after travelling in our LT Florida for 2 days I had to couldn't wait. Internet is slow where I am via "edge" so I will be brief. Traveled 500km so far averaging 12.5L/100K. Not bad for a 6 cyl diesel push a frontage of 3 meters tall. I don't think I can ever camp in a T3 (must speak "German" here!) again. I would miss:

The large over-sized mirrors 5 gears driven by a diesel power plant HOT WATER! We have 10L of on board heated water - and its HOT! Outside propane hookup for our BBQ. 18L propane tank with level gauge! (only down 10% after 2 days of heavy usage) On board factory Eberspacher heater. (It's 7 deg Celsius right now) Space for 4 adults to comfortably sleep and eat dinner. Larger fridge that gets ICE cold. More cupboards than I could fill out of 4 suitcases. On board shower! 90L fresh water tank, and 70L waste water tank. Fiamma awning that must be as long as an entire Vanagon. I haven't measured it but it goes from above the drivers door all the way to the back.

Google "VW LT Florida" for images. Most have the standard awning not as large as this one. This thing feels like driving a full size bus, but it is quite maneuverable on the tight local streets. Just have to watch the overhead clearance. I can't wait to ship it home.....I will post pictures when I find proper high speed internet. Off to visit the museum in Wolfsburg tomorrow.

Jason
