Consider it flattering. Like they're trying to get a little of our 'florida' and 'california' glamor energy .. just like we do with an American car model name like Riviera.

Lots of non-conforming vehicles get into the US somehow, and get titled and registered. Either hoops to jump through, or hoops to sneak around.
