It goes up and over the coolant pipes. I know folks who ran it under
purposely and as far as I know they haven't had any troubles doing it that
way either.

Going under makes it easier if you have to drop the tank again in the
future - because you don't have to get in there and disconnect the
crossover line to get the tank out.
