Ground connections tend to be out in the weather (or made of steel and placed under a common windshield leak...) and have a disproportionate rate of problems in these vans. In all cases they connect to steel at some point which is a failure looking for a chance to happen. High-current connections have to be very good or they burn up or stop working. The higher the current draw, the better the connections must be. Low-current connections (like the sender connections into the ECU) have to be good and consistent or the ECU will see false and intermittent data about engine conditions and cause bad/erratic engine operation.
