I have that one and it works ok. Much easier to just use a soldering iron with a large tip. If you can find a scrap piece of the same kind of plastic you are welding it's easy to cut bits out of that for "welding rods". You can even use a heat gun with a large flat tip screwdriver and with a bit of practice make some nice repairs.
