I'm going on a 5 - 6 night camping trip to Oregon's northeast region -- Ukiah, La Grande, Unity, Burns kind of area. No real destination, just scoping the place out and hoping to find places where Mrs Squirrel and I can overnight on our planned 10-night camping trip which will take us further east later this season. If you know the area and can recommend some primitive campgrounds on BLM or NF lands alongside lakes, rivers, or streams (Mrs Squirrel does like her water features), please p-mail me. Paved pads, restrooms with running water, lawns, hosts with flagpoles, hookups, and neighbors with RVs NOT required. Dispersed (i.e., undeveloped, no fee) campsites surrounded by beauty desired. A couple years ago, someone here posted a link to some pictures of a campsite he stayed at on BLM land. It was along a river, in the desert, under a big tree -- maybe a sycamore. I feel in love with it. But not so much that I made a good note of the location. New radiator and master brake cylinder, don't let me down! -- Jack "Rocket j Squirrel" Elliott 1984 Westfalia, auto trans, Bend, Ore. |
