The answer is easy.
First, we put clamps on hoses & keep them there for years and thousands of
miles. So, what are you really saving when reusing a reusable screw type
clamp? Not much - maybe pennies per year. And I've had issues with used
screw type clamps, enough issues that I routinely throw away screw type
clamps when I remove them.
Second, with the correct size Oetiker clamp you can't over tighten and won't
have a leak unless you have an issue with the hose or fitting it's clamped
on, but in this case you would also have a issue with a screw type clamp.
Third, with a screw clamp, how tight is tight enough? And what if you over
tighten? I know what happens when you over tighten a screw type clamp - you
cause a leak!

nice site and equipment there.
curious why anyone would use a 'use-one-time-only' clamp when a good
stainless steel clamp is nearly indefinitely reusable ..
and doesn't go into land fill after one use.
If the original poster has oetiker clamps on his rear heater lines ...
New one on me. I've had dozens of them apart and don't remember that they
have one-time-use-only hose clamps there.
Unless he means fuel lines on an aux heater.
I can see using them on fuel lines I suppose, and on CV joint boots , but
otherwise ...ain't nuthin' wrong with a high quality screw hose clamp.
Those roundy wire ones ..
if I see those anywhere I toss 'em immediately.
Appears to me the only purpose of those is cheapness.
