Sorry to interrupt, and I haven't been following this thread, but I did see this post and the picture Alistair posted is well known to me. By various definitions, I would argue that the box seat is stock, as in optional at the Westfalia Factory, or at least an OEM accessory. It is the container for the Thetaford Porta-Potty, that we also purchased at the factory. As Mrs. Wood said at the time, it would prove very useful over the span of our campling activities. Never left home without it! It was available in each of the finish fabrics used at the time (1982). Frank Grunthaner
